A record volume of gas was traded on the exchange for the delivery of November
In November, 2,997 transactions were concluded on the GET Baltic exchange, amounting to a total of 1 TWh of natural gas traded, all of the transactions were concluded on the daily market. The trading volume increased by 42% compared to October (708GWh) and was the highest for the delivery of November in the history of GET Baltic. Cross-border (ICA) transactions accounted for a fifth (210 GWh) of the total volume traded. More than half of the total volume, 583GWh (58%), was purchased on the Lithuanian market area in November, while on the the Latvian-Estonian common market area 224 GWh (22% of the total) was purchased and 199 GWh (20% of the total) in the Finnish market area.
In November, the Baltic-Finnish Gas Spot Index (BGSI), which captures changes in natural gas prices on the daily market, stood at EUR 46.50/MWh, which is 11% higher than in October (41.74 EUR/MWh). In the Lithuanian market area, the BGSI value in November increased by 11% to 47.58 EUR/MWh, in the Latvian-Estonian common market area and the Finnish market area it increased by 10%, while the monthly BGSI value in both market areas amounted 45.39 EUR/MWh. Individual transaction prices in November ranged from EUR 38.00/MWh to EUR 57.55/MWh.
