As the number of transactions increased – the most active summer trading recorded.
In July 2019 Baltic Gas Exchange GET Baltic traded volume amounted to 132 GWh of natural gas. Comparing with June 2019 (71 GWh) the traded volume increased almost twice and comparing with the same time last year (16 GWh) it increased even 8 times. With a total of 697 transactions concluded in the seventh month of this year, GET Baltic has recorded the most active summer trading since its inception. Transactions were conducted in both daily and monthly markets, with 694 trades in a daily market and 3 – in a monthly market respectively. During July 2019 orders were submitted and transactions concluded by 23 participants.
As individual transactions prices fluctuated between 11.78 EUR/MWh and 14.90 EUR/MWh, Baltic Gas Spot Index (BGSI), which captures daily market gas prices changes in the Baltics, value in July 2019 was 12.56 EUR/MWh. Compared to June 2019 (14.05 EUR/MWh) it decreased by 11%. Exchange participants concluded transactions in Lithuanian market area paid the weighted average price of 12.43 EUR/MWh (↓11%), in Latvian market area – 13.47 EUR/MWh (↓5%), Estonian market area – 13.06 EUR/MWh (↓13%).Baltic Gas Monthly Index (BGMI), which captures monthly market gas prices changes in the Baltics, value in July 2019 was 12,48 EUR/MWh.
