Downward price trend stabilized in the first month of the autumn
In September 2019 Baltic Gas Exchange GET Baltic traded volume amounted to 108 GWh. Comparing with August 2019 (78 GWh) traded volume increased by 38%, comparing year on year (79 GWh) – increased by 37%. After natural gas prices had fallen back for 10 consecutive months, in the first month of the autumn it stabilized and started to move up. The weighted average price for the Baltics climbed to 12.58 EUR/MWh (August 2019 – 12 EUR/MWh). During September all 599 transactions were concluded on a daily market. Orders were submitted by 24 participants and transactions concluded by 22 of them.
Baltic Gas Spot Index (BGSI) which captures daily market gas prices changes in the Baltics, value in September 2019 was 12.58 EUR/MWh and compared to August 2019 (12 EUR/MWh), increased by 5%. Exchange participants concluded transactions in Lithuanian market area paid the weighted average price of 12.38 EUR/MWh (↑7%), in Latvian market area – 13.19 EUR/MWh (↑1%), Estonian market area – 13.43 EUR/MWh (↑1%).
