EEX now provides REMIT disclosure services to Baltic-Finnish gas markets
The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has successfully launched REMIT Inside Information Disclosure Services for Baltic-Finnish natural gas markets, previously offered by GET Baltic. The integration of these services into the EEX Transparency Platform follows EEX’s acquisition of the majority shareholding in GET Baltic and is the first joint accomplishment in the framework of the planned integration of the Baltic-Finnish gas markets into EEX. To date, 23 customers have signed up to use EEX’s reporting services for the Baltic-Finnish gas markets.
“We are pleased to extend the regional coverage of the EEX Transparency Platform to three more gas markets in total,” says Marcus Mittendorf, Director Market Data Services at EEX. “The EEX Transparency Platform provides highest technical standards and availability for customers in this region and enables them to release their inside information for all European gas and power markets in one place.“
Giedre Kurme, Chief Executive Officer of GET Baltic, explains: “GET Baltic’s primary objective is to enhance the gas markets in the Baltic and Finnish regions, promoting their integration with the broader European gas trading markets. Through the previous year, EEX has proven to stand as the perfect partner for driving this transformation together, having successfully completed the initial phase towards markets integration into the EEX Transparency Platform. We are looking forward to the developments that lie ahead.”
GET Baltic’s UMM platform is no longer accepting inside information and it will be de-registered from ACER’s list of inside information platforms.
The integration of GET Baltic’s products and services for the Baltic-Finnish region enables a closer connection to the liquid European gas markets already offered by EEX. As a result, it has the potential to further strengthen the liquidity in the Baltic-Finnish gas markets.
