The Chairwoman of the GET Baltic Management Board Jūratė Marcinkonienė has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Baltic-Finnish Gas Exchange GET Baltic. She will take up new position as of 13 April 2021 and will replace the current CEO Giedrė Kurmė during her pregnancy and parental leave.
Prior to this appointment, Jūratė Marcinkonienė worked as Director of Strategy and Development at EPSO-G holding company. Also, she took up her duties as member of the GET Baltic Management Board for 4,5 year, as well as the Chairwoman of the Board of GET Baltic since April 2020. Many years of accumulated experience in the energy sector, deep involvement in GET Baltic‘s activities while acting in the Management Board, will allow Jūratė Marcinkonienė successfully and continuously pursue the company’s strategic goals by creating a developed, advanced natural gas exchange meeting the highest standards and recognized by energy market participants in both regional and international markets.

GET Baltic is a licensed natural gas market operator. The Company administrates the electronic trading system for trading spot and forward natural gas products with physical delivery in the market areas located in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
After launching the Finnish market area at the beginning of 2020, ensuring continuous trading opportunities in the region as well as after significant increase in the number of gas exchange participants and concluded transactions, GET Baltic traded volume increased more than 2.5 times, total volume purchased on the gas exchange amounted to 11% of gas consumed in the Baltic and Finnish markets.
Listening to the needs of wholesale gas market participants GET Baltic is constantly improving and developing activities in the region, the total number of active GET Baltic gas exchange participants during 2020 increased by 71% (from 32 to 55), the total traded volume reached highest heights since the launch of gas exchange in 2021 – 7,2 TWh of gas has been traded during 2020.
